Callum Ross skies in NZ Open

A quick update on some happenings with Regional Skiers. Nic Bakker, Linda Shailer and Calum Ross all competed at the New Zealand Open last weekend at Ed Donald and Mark O’Connells lake just north of Helensville. This was held in conjunction with the Oz Kiwi Tournament.

While none of our skiers achieved podium placings they performed well against a top class field. Unfortunately Calum scored zero on gates in round 1 which made it really hard for him to get a high score for the 2 rounds. Hard luck Calum. Nic scored 1.5 @ 12m 58kph in both rounds and therefore set a new WCNI Open Mens record beating Jerome Tindle’s 2.5 @ 13m set in January 2008. Linda established our Open Womens record of 3 @ 13m 55kph. We have not previously had a competitor in Open Women at any tournament since our records keeping commenced in 2008. Congratulations to both Nic and Linda
